My Armor has Cracks… edited

—

After surviving years of abuse, coming out of each operation alive, waking each morning with the usual aches and pains, I learned to live with… I found out, all of a sudden, I am not invincible, which will make some humans very, very happy, if my demise was today and not decades from now…

When Little Rock VA did my Echo and every subsequent one since, was so healthy, I thought, I got this and long life too come…

I said, thought…..

What I put aside and basically forgot… My exposure to Agent Orange on Okinawa…

They sprayed our bases with that poison and anyone living on the base who went into any area sprayed or handled the stuff, you were at risk…

My own father died from it, my ex husband died from it and now, for the last 20 years, my body is reminding me…

Superwoman I am not…

Awake at 3am, thinking about what the CT found and how much things changed in 10 years between scans and I realized, the past may getting ready to haunt me, instead of me haunting it…

Sunday I was on the fence about hitting the ER and all of a sudden I felt dread and we were out the door headed to the one place I avoid…

Veterans emergency room in Biloxi… and I am so glad I went and so glad I said what I said, because, the doc changed attitude and ordered extensive tests in the ER and she may have saved my life…

Am I scared??? NO!!!

I faced death twice before 14 years old…

I am more nervous about staying healthy and not leaving Homer to deal with dementia on his own… We are it, when it comes to help… We are it…

So many out there just like us, abandoned by the kids and grandkids, because we closed the checkbook or in our instance, I sewed it shut…

Since Sunday I have been burying myself in all things pancreas… Eliminating all the stuff I did for the last 10 years, that would create the situation I now find myself in…

The changes to my pancreas and my large intestines, are remarkable in such a short time… right at 10 yrs between scans and the change, well Friday the doc will see what I got yesterday, the scan from 10 yrs ago and compared to Sunday, just wow on the changes…

Cancer took 3 uncles and my dad… I always figured heart disease for me, but my body is letting me know…..

YOU ARE GETTING OLD(er)😉🥴🤣

Early detection is key in any cancer, but my understanding about cancers are limited… I don’t pursue medical information unless I need to know something…

Me thinks I really need to learn something now to prevent things from escalating…

Regardless, this wake up call scare of cancer again is my reminder, get my ducks in a row and be ready for the thing you least expect…

Cancer…

I remember…

The only positive in all this??? If the sinus issue is connected to the pancreas, it is documented in my military records that they had no clue why I had it all of a sudden………….

● About Me

I am Maggi, given that name on Okinawa during the Vietnam war by a group of Marines in transit at Naha AFB… At 17 years old I didn’t know I was missing memory… I had lost the first 17 years of life and was about to embark on a journey of intrigue, murder, rape, military coverup and live a life, most only dream about… Will I ever remember my youth or will I always walk in shadow not knowing who I was…

This is my story of survival…
