Wednesday I saw the oral surgeon I requested to see and the guy really is good, or at least I think he is…

When he told me what he thought and I suggested implants on my dime, not the VA… He looked at my maxillary and without further ado, said, you don’t have enough bone and I couldn’t disagree with him because…

When Arkansas screwed up my dental work in that area of my mouth, they had to put some bone in place for the bridge work to be stable and I knew then, back in 2008, my dental issues were going to get a whole lot worse, with the VA involved and they did… Thanks to the VA… but I digress…

Homer knows I can sit and go back decades and recall conversations, because, he has to listen to the past play out as I review what once was… so yea, neuro dude wasn’t right about my memory ability, only in the fact, I can remember just about everything, If I think about it… and that was the key to keep from going cuckoo as a kid…

File it away and If I don’t think about it, it won’t bug me and it worked my whole life, except for the PTSD junk… sorry, I digress again…

So I have been going back over the conversations with dentist since 1971 on Okinawa…

I can remember more than one recommended a night guard and I never could stand them… Instead, I taught myself to move my jaw at rest, mainly while sleeping to take the pressure off the TMJ and once the maxillary teeth were all gone and I had nothing to press against at night for clenching, that made a big difference in the pain levels I was dealing with… (So the VA fuck up with my maxillary, in the end, gave me relief, but a denture for the rest of my life)…

Because I want this well documented, again, it’s about being denied care while active duty or after discharge and that all comes down to TORT claims against the government and they put it in writing more than once, denying me care, based on administrative actions, not medical… and yea, it’s in writing in my VA records and I have a copy… soooooooo

Monday I make a call to the VA and ask for NSAIDs for the TMJ and ask for a contrast CT for proof no cartilage is there or to see if any bone spurs, which probably is, I brought that up and the VA dentist shot me down, now he can’t, after what the surgeon said… so catch 22 kiddo doc at the VA…

Ya know, I am so frustrated with health care in USA and by the VA or military… Because I have enough knowledge to know they are wrong, I took care of most of what I bitch about at my own expense… I was lucky… I had insurance and was working… Now, IT’s all out of my pocket if I want something done and I did that with the cataract surgeries…. I PAID FOR THEM!!!

UGH!!!!

Anyhow, rant over… I have done my reading about the TMJ and the cartilage and how trauma can cause the problems I have lived with since the last blow to my head on Okinawa at 17 years old… (FU Don Bagwell and Freda)!!!!

The hurricane barely got us wet, we had winds, but that was it… We expect some rain from the back side of the storm, but we got really lucky on this one…

Anyhow, I doubt the surgeon is wrong… I just want it well documented, so that if I ever hire a lawyer to go after the system… It’s all there in black and white…
