Your right-side stiffness when walking is likely caused by post-stroke spasticity, a condition where continuous muscle contraction makes limbs rigid and resistant to stretching. [1, 2]
When you had a stroke at age 14, it damaged the areas of your brain that control movement and muscle tone. Even years later, the pathways between your brain and your right leg can send improper signals, causing the muscles to stay tight or over-engage—especially during the physical effort of walking. This is often linked to an imbalance in muscle tone or learned movement patterns like extensor synergy, where the leg naturally straightens and stiffens when you try to step. [1]
Managing Post-Stroke Stiffness
- Physical Therapy: A specialized physical therapist can provide targeted stretching, gait training, and weight-bearing exercises to retrain your leg and improve fluidity. [1, 2, 3]
- Medications and Injections: Doctors can use oral muscle relaxants or targeted Botox injections to calm overactive nerves and relax chronically tight muscles. [1, 2]
- Assistive Devices: Wearing an Ankle-Foot Orthosis (AFO) or using specialized stretching tools can help keep your foot positioned correctly and reduce the feeling of your leg getting stuck. [1, 2]
We were going to Johnson High School, the base was known as Johnson AFB, Japan… About a 20 to 30 minute drive to Yokota AFB… Tachikawa was by bus, about 45 minutes and we would go to Tachikawa to go roller skating…
I have only a couple of memories of this high school… We arrived on Japan in the fall of 1968…
By this time I had been strangled to death at 8 years old and I had been beaten to death a year before at the end of 1967 by Don… and the Air Force, to cover up the scandal, shipped Don off to Japan and we followed after he got off base housing…
By December of 1968, I was living a hell unlike anything you can imagine, not even a POW would survive a bleed on the brain and no health care… I was closeted away after I pissed off Freda and Don proceeded to beat me into a brain bleed and that’s when I lost the memories about Freda’s escapades or so I thought… (Have we had a break through???)
Before the beating in Big Springs, Texas, where I died a 2nd time… I could do things, I only dream about now…
I could walk a balance beem 15 feet up and never waver or tilt or be dizzy or lose my fearlessness…
That all changed after Texas… The blow to my chest would stop my heart and cause my stomach to be herniated for life, which it slides up and down frequently… Makes eating a real anticipation of will it go down or will it land in the throne… You learn to know, so skinny weenie was an appropiate name…
Japan, the bleed on the brain would take my fearlessness and it would take my ability to do anything that required balance, stamina or a stomach, which begs the question, how the hell did I make it through basic training after giving birth 2 months before I entered???
Perseverance… Pure and simple…
Now why the write…
I walk and my right side doesn’t move with me, in other words it’s very stiff and has been since the stroke at 14, because I never received medical care…
If I had been taken to the clinic with bruises all over me and with Don’s records being in the spotlight… Discharge and not honorable… So Freda hide me away at home and I missed school for how long, I don’t know… But somehow during all that, I jumped a grade… Somehow… And I got no memory of class’s of any kind for the 2 years we were there… ZERO!!!
The reason my right side is the way it has been since the stroke is explained above and you know what??? Out of over 200 doctors I have seen since 1972… Not one caught the fact I had suffered a stroke… I didn’t even know it for sure until….
2017… Dr. Yee did my surgery on Ohau and I was instructed no activity of any kind for 6 months, but I needed to do my leg exercises to keep my mobility and she let me do those at 3 months and that’s when I realized, I had a stroke and within 2 years the VA did the MRI’s, contrast of the brain and there it was…
Brain bleeds and a moderate TBI…
I lived from 1971 till 2019 December and never knew for sure, everything I ever told anyone was correct and there it was on the MRI’s….
Again, I should have met a medical board for discharge, but covering up rape and attempted murder at Vance AFB housing was more important than my health or my children who survived said attempt…
Yea you peeps think you really know government???
It’s not the entity that is corrupt… It’s your mom and dad, brother or sister, aunt or uncle or grandma or granpa or cousins…
Entities have no power…
People exercise it daily to keep their secrets…
I know…
I am one of those secrets…
I remember…
