Sticker Shock…

Blame game when you have a partner with dementia and you still allow things to happen… Do you do the blame game???

Getting the bill for the fancy computer I drive that we bought 2 years ago and no we didn’t need a new truck…

Our diesel pulled it just fine, though it was 20 years old and I really didn’t want to drive my 4runner across the U.S.

So we both made choices that, in hindsight, was not the best, but not the worse either…

The truck is big and it sits high and it has every luxury thing you can think of that they could put in one in 21… we bought it used and it was to be our only vehicle, why???

Because I had zero proof Homer had dementia… Even after years of testing…

We get to Mississippi and within 9 months, we have a diagnosis and all of a sudden, I need to learn about this computer Homer was driving…

Come to find out, this thing, you do certain servicing every 100,000 miles and don’t do it again, until needed if towing and we went over that number and all these things started popping up as needed done and Homer, yea, even though he was a mechanic for the family business, since he was out of high school… Had no clue… The onus was now on me…

So the guy calls me with a $7,000 estimate and 2 things were priorities and only 1 was covered under warranty, so I got to come up with $5,800 for everything else and like I have done since I knew Homer had dementia, I got out my book keeping and started arranging what needed done and the rest, will get done over the next few months, because they don’t impede me driving the computer… 2 things have to be done and those are being done today and next couple weeks when part comes in…

Now the clencher, guy couldn’t tell me the appraised value, because of the repair bill and they didn’t expect me to jump on the most expensive stuff right away, they thought that much money???

So no value last night, but this morning, we should be told and Homer is so hoping they undercut that offer because of the repairs and then, we will never step foot in that dealership again…

I don’t like any business thinking because I am a woman that I don’t have a say, when women out number men on this earth and if they got their heads out of those clouds, we wouldn’t be in wars any place on the planet… but gold diggers come in all shapes and religious rhetoric…

So….. I am waiting to find out what they want to offer me for my luxury truck…

I told Homer, insult me and they will never see us again and I have done that to business’s since I had buying power…

We all have the power to control the narrative, we just gotta do it…

My budget is shot for the rest of the year as I pay for these things that are needed and required…

A one time cost… Because if I put 10,000 miles on that truck it will be a flat out miracle… Once a year oil change and add DEF fluid as needed and that computer is like a yacht on wheels… It’s the nicest thing I ever owned…

Today should be fun, as the men at that dealership were informed yesterday, they are dealing with me and Homer knows… you really want to be smart, because I absolutely hate dealerships… So they have that against them from the get go…

I remember… I may get a new car or I may keep the truck… choices are mine only…

About Me

I am Maggi, given that name on Okinawa during the Vietnam war by a group of Marines in transit at Naha AFB… At 17 years old I didn’t know I was missing memory… I had lost the first 17 years of life and was about to embark on a journey of intrigue, murder, rape, military coverup and live a life, most only dream about… Will I ever remember my youth or will I always walk in shadow not knowing who I was…

This is my story of survival…
