Cataract Surgeries… Buyer Beware!!!

2001 with #2 grankid, Homer hands me the ring I bought…

I knew back in 19, when I had my surgeries, my vision was bad, I refused to drive unless I had no choice by 2019… and we found out when Homer had to be taken to Hilo by ambulance, my driving days were done till I got new len’s….

After my surgery, my left eye clouded and that’s because the new lens can do that 50% of the time and I know he told me, because he did the laser thing to put a hole in my lens to relase what ever it is behind the lens…

Well my right eye took on the cloud and by the time we got moved here and Homer gets told he has dementia and I have to do all the driving, I panicked every time I had to get behind the wheel…

A few months ago, medicare took care of that, because using the VA, wasn’t going to happen and I saw a surgeon and he tells me the right lens is clouded and they hit it with the laser several times and then he tells me about the parasite in one eye and the mole on the other…

Both of those things I knew already… I have worn glass’s since the 70’s that would darken on their own to protect my eyes from the sun, but I did that because I have hazel eyes, and they are more prone to cancers… The mole I learned about 30 years ago, the parasite, same…

So imagine trying to remodel homes, buy vehicles and travel trailer and then you buy a new home and you have only you to rely on and when you start finding the issues that are all cosmetic…. Don’t get me wrong, the house is well built, but the finish work is some of the poorest I have ever seen and for what we paid, it’s very disappointing but he did vote for Trump and he is our neighbor and our builder and my foot really itche’s sometimes to place it were the sun don’t shine…

So this is why the write…

Structural, electrical and plumbing are all fine in the build of this home… But the stuff you see that sells the house, I missed and now, I have to figure out how to fix these issues and do it smart, so that we make money on the sale and not loose and most of all, it will be about timing and money… so here is my laundry list of fixe’s I have to do or accept a lower price at selling time…

The range hood build was done to tight to the cabinets and has to be ripped out and redone…

The counter tops are quartz and at the end of one piece has a hole, which Homer did a beautiful job fixing it, unless I point it out, you won’t know the hole was there and it wasn’t tiny, it was quarter size… also, Homer fixed the gap between two pieces of quartz, but he still has another layer to do and that will hold it till I replace the quartz…

Then you have the massive island and as the puppies play around it and once in a while get to curious, they peeled off a thin strip and underneath the staining they put on it, it’s plywood and not any kind of decent wood… So that has to be completely redone and refaced… Tearing it out isn’t a option because of the tile on the floor…

Then, after Arthur dumped over 30inches of rain and we flooded and stayed flooded for weeks till we dried out and all of a sudden on one side of the house I have cracked tiles… Only one side of the house and that is the side that stayed wet for over a month???

Now the tile could be bad install or it could be because the weep holes were to high and water got underneath the tile, instead of draining away from the house an it could be settling, which, any house you build, they settle and that loud popping in the attic may be truss’s being stressed???

Without tearing up the tile to see if the foundation has cracks in it, in that specific side of the house… Not happening… I have to look at it from more than just structural…

I have to look at install and sloppy, cheap and crappy work that would fail if I was foreman on the build…

Homer’s dementia throws a brick into doing anything major by us… We sold all the table saws, router’s, you name it tools for a major remodel, we don’t have anymore and daily, as I look at these cosmetic defects I see a window with a crack in the upper stationary part and of course it’s the side of the house that has cracked tile, soooooo… Yea, likely a defect in the glass and not unusual to see… Knowledge is my power source now…

The last 48 hours saw our property flood and neighbors on both sides of us flood and all because of the builder hasn’t fixed the drainage issue… (I will be talking with the nurse so we can gang up on the guy, it’s past time for him to finish what he started, us women know exactly how to pin a man down and slop the guilt on, to be a man, you don’t put it off… being a boy on the other hand, well Trump is a prime example of do nothing and blame everything else)….

So my writing is taking a hit, because I am more focused on how to fix what I have to fix and Homer is silent, because he can’t use the tools he once used safely… Though he solved the window repair, it can come out without replacing the frame… So not too expensive to have that stationary window replaced later…

As for the island and range hood…

I figure in the next 8 years I will decide how to fix it, replace all the quartz and redo range hood and reface the cabinets… As for the tile, I am already reading how to repair or replace, so I am working on getting a couple box’es of tile for a project down the road… As long as no more cracking happens… I shake my head in doubt…

I miss having Homer involved on this, becuase I am going to have to decide in 8 years how much I want to spend in order to sell, in the mean time, the dream home that never came to be is how I will remember this house…

Some things are just not meant to be and this is one of those times… It will be a good investment, but home, home is where ever we are together as a family and Homer agrees, downsizing is in our future, if I can’t afford to keep the place looking good as his disease progress’s….

Dreams are what you make of them and my dreaming at this point in time, is how to fix what can be fixed and replace what has to be replaced… All will depend on the costs as America recover’s from rapists raping America, all because they can’t live unless they hurt children… Christians are a very sick bunch of humans… Our builder is one…

Have a wonderful day… ours is still very wet after 48 hours of rain…

I remember…

I am Maggi, given that name on Okinawa during the Vietnam war by a group of Marines in transit at Naha AFB… At 17 years old I didn’t know I was missing memory… I had lost the first 17 years of life and was about to embark on a journey of intrigue, murder, rape, military coverup and live a life, most only dream about… Will I ever remember my youth or will I always walk in shadow not knowing who I was…

This is my story of survival…
