I can remember bugging my mom for one of those you could paint by number and I tried several times over the years until, I quit trying…
I never could hold the brush steady, same with doing anything with my hands…
Freda fractured them when I was 5 and she busted the knuckles on both hands and the wrists…
So, it is kind of amazing I was able to do the job as a dental tech in the Air Force, but I got yelled at for throwing instruments… because I had no control over the movement… Thus no makeup for most of my life… I don’t like mascara on the eyeball… Just keeping it real…
There are lots of things I tried and accomplished, but the craft didn’t last long… I used polymer clay, I made some very nice pretty jewelry with semi precious stones and quality crystals… I made lots of clothes and I even made a couple blankets with crocheting an knitting…
I haven’t been able to do any of those things for over 10 years now… I struggle to type and I struggle to cook… But I do it, because I have too…
When I did some dancing and ballroom was my thing, and we did a couple performances… I loved every minute of it… by the time I was 31, I couldn’t do it any more, the body said no…
So I watch as tech gets better and know at some point and time, I will be dictating the story and not typing… I will be cooking prepared meals instead of making it all from scratch… and I won’t be driving…
I expect those things to enter my life at some point in time…
I got to do all the things I mentioned and enjoyed them until the last 20 years made it more difficult to do more than what is needed, not what I wanted…
I knew all this as a child…
After every beating, I knew I was losing a little bit of me and after every blow a part of me died…
Yet I remind myself I also have gotten to live a wild and crazy adventerous life and it’s not over yet, it’s just going to change some…
I remember…
