Insatiable Sleep???

I remember being in study hall at Johnson AFB high school, on Japan and I was at a cubicle and laid my head down and I was out cold…

It wasn’t a long nap, because it’s high school, but when I woke, I couldn’t move and I was terrified…

I later learned this is called sleep paralysis… and it isn’t something you want to experience more than once and I did… For decades…

The last time it happened, I was aware and woke myself, fear drove me into a panic attack and I knew, I needed to understand why I had lived this since I was 14…

Finding out about the stroke in 2017 wasn’t a relief, deep down I knew, but without evidence you are psychosomatic, I think is the term…

Yea, take a MRI and it throws those statements in my military records into the garbage of you can’t fix stupid because you got a degree…!!!

The insatiable sleepiness is still a real thing for me… I have lived with it since the stroke, just like the weakness in my left side, the dragging of my leg and the side of my face that don’t move often…

All tell tale signs, I had a stroke at some time… It’s noticeable now, but when I was young, well, you see the pictures…

The sleep thing is so bad, that I really work hard not to introduce sugar or caffenine into our diet after a certain time of day, because of the crash that follows… I really do regiment our diet…

A cousin at my grandmother’s funeral made a comment when he thought I was napping on the couch, “that I could fall asleep anywere”, he only saw me up till 13 and for a very short time after we came back from Japan and that wouldn’t have been a opportunity for him to know of the sleep issue and there is the …. aha moment!!! (circa 1987)…

So, IF what he said was true, then that means my memory of the near death in Alabama while Don was at the bay of pigs and my mother destroyed my brothers life…

Well, it all fits with “insatiable sleepiness”… from head trauma and the memory I have of that violence, she was banging my head into the floor, not mom… Sis!!!

I remember…

About Me

I am Maggi, given that name on Okinawa during the Vietnam war by a group of Marines in transit at Naha AFB… At 17 years old I didn’t know I was missing memory… I had lost the first 17 years of life and was about to embark on a journey of intrigue, murder, rape, military coverup and live a life, most only dream about… Will I ever remember my youth or will I always walk in shadow not knowing who I was…

This is my story of survival…
