Before I forget, Again!!!

Things are changing in the brain and I really am enjoying what I am experiencing and the fact, I got no one throwing lies into the memory bucket… That being said, memory has been on my mind and what the neurologist I was seeing on the big island said to me…

My jaw is displaced after Don knocked me across the room on Okinawa… Naha AFB circa 1971, Kubasaki High School, Okinawa class of 72

“You make memories different from everyone else”… I got to agree with him… He told me that back in 19 or 20 and I am actually the one that made the statement, he agreed… Only because he didn’t think I had the photographic memory ability anymore and like I have said before, he was partially right and so was I…

Being on social media requires you to remember your group and their handles… It don’t work that way for me…

When I got off, when I had the mental health crisis after the court clerk yelled at me… My brain started it’s final steps out of darkness… and I knew, my chances of remembering the people I interacted with on Blue Sky was probably real slim…

My TBI impacts my short term memory and you throw in 2 strokes we know of for sure, well, memory can be real wonky on a regular basis if you didn’t get health care and I never recieved health care for my strokes… (brain bleed on MRI was the proof)…

When I got back on social media, I followed those I could remember and if they didn’t follow back I cut them loose, I figured I got the handle wrong or maybe it was something else less pleasant…

Still, I did remember over a 100 of them and sometimes when I see a post by someone I think that’s one, but not sure and some I let them know I was back and got spurned and that was the usual thing you saw on Face Book… So, no I will never like or appreciate social media… It’s middle school on steroids for popularity… I’ll pass, just like I did in school and life…

I do a few tests on occasion to see what my memory capability is, sometimes it’s dead on and other times, I can feel the difference and I know, because of my lack of interest in the subject, name or person… Will never gel… Popularity contests in anything, again, pass…

I have been told I am eloquent on occasion and on other occasions I sound a little goofy… That’s my brain in action and frankly… I like it and have no desire to accomodate anyone for the rest of my life…

I told Homer things are changing on his front… We will have a lot to talk about when he see’s his neurologist this month… Things are changing and I am trying to figure out the best way forward, you really do have to adapt to a fast changing front in your own home… and it doesn’t stop, till the end…

The reason for the write, I do accept I no longer have the full blown edetic ability… It is kind of chopped up into, what interests me, how it impacts me and what I think of it… and if I am not interested, nothing will change that and I won’t waste time remembering the subject or object or person… It makes for less clutter… it makes for less fake relationships… I like cutting things loose…

My short term memory issues are not as bad as they were before the memory trigger in 17… and now with Homer’s dementia, I really have to push to make it work harder, so I can make sure nothing goes awry, figuratively and literally…

I remember…

About Me

I am Maggi, given that name on Okinawa during the Vietnam war by a group of Marines in transit at Naha AFB… At 17 years old I didn’t know I was missing memory… I had lost the first 17 years of life and was about to embark on a journey of intrigue, murder, rape, military coverup and live a life, most only dream about… Will I ever remember my youth or will I always walk in shadow not knowing who I was…

This is my story of survival…
